Main programmes

• Water Stewardship: watershed area up 1.69 lakh acres in year (cumulative 19.85 lakh acres), 72 districts in 17 states; 2,640 water-harvesting structures built; urban water-body programmes in Bengaluru and Chennai
• Climate Smart Agriculture: 31.93 lakh acres, 113 districts in 17 states, 12.09 lakh farmers (cumulative programme coverage)
• Livestock development in 16 states and 50 districts; about 1.33 lakh artificial inseminations in year
• Women empowerment: about 3.47 lakh poor women reached in year (cumulative 6 lakh); Targeting Hardcore Poor programme cumulative 45,520 women in 10 districts of 8 states
• Primary education in 60 districts of 15 states, about 4.39 lakh new children; 535 government schools and Anganwadis given infrastructure support
• Skilling: 17,600 youth trained in 33 districts of 16 states in year (cumulative 1.45 lakh)
• Sanitation and hygiene: Swasth India Mission reached 25,000 schools and about 37.47 lakh children; sanitation programme in 35 districts of 14 states
• Impact assessment of 63 projects (outlay over Rs 1 crore each, FY 2023-24 projects) by 12 external agencies

Trees and greening

• Social Forestry: 44,000 acres in year; 19 districts in 6 states; cumulative 5.72 lakh acres, 7,750+ villages, 1.98 lakh households (Social plus Farm Forestry cumulative about 14.83 lakh acres)
• Biodiversity (village commons restoration and native-species tree planting): over 1.63 lakh acres in year, 40 districts in 10 states; cumulative 8.10 lakh acres
• Soil and moisture conservation and tree plantation by Maharashtra Forest Department in Pune forest and fringe areas: 1,985 acres in year (cumulative 12,985 acres)
• Miyawaki native-species plantations: 67 acres in 99 villages across five states
• Mangroves conservation (MISHTI-aligned) in Andhra Pradesh: 400 acres added (cumulative 1,900 acres); 8,066 Olive Ridley hatchlings released
